Keeping students safe
Future Ready works with young people aged 11–16. Keeping students safe is our first priority. This page explains how we do that.
Our commitments
What we promise to do
These commitments shape every workshop, research activity and conversation we have with students.
- A named adult supervises all Future Ready activity.
- All workshops are delivered with adult supervision present.
- We never hold private one-to-one messaging with students.
- We involve parents, carers and teachers where appropriate.
- We have a clear process for responding if a student raises a safeguarding concern.
Reporting a concern
If something doesn't feel right
If anyone has a safeguarding concern, you can contact the supervising adult at mknauf@qcl.org.uk. We take every concern seriously and will respond promptly.
Serious or urgent concerns
Serious or urgent concerns should always go to the relevant school or, in an emergency, the appropriate authorities. If a child is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services straight away.
Our standards
Following UK guidance
Our approach follows UK safeguarding guidance on working with children and young people. We keep our practices under review and update them as we grow, and as a student-led initiative we work under the oversight of supervising adults at all times.
Questions about safeguarding?
If you're a parent, carer, teacher or school leader and would like to know more about how we keep students safe, please get in touch - your enquiry will be reviewed by a supervising adult.
